Rubio, Colleagues Introduce Bipartisan Resolution Recognizing Political Repression in Belarus

Next month marks the two-year anniversary of Belarus’ fraudulent presidential election.

U.S. Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Dick Durbin (D-IL) introduced a bipartisan resolution recognizing the anniversary of the fraudulent 2020 presidential election of Alexander Lukashenko for a sixth term in Belarus.

The resolution also commemorates the historic peaceful protests that followed the election, and the continued heroic efforts of the Belarusian people.
Senators Thom Tillis (R-NC), Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), Deb Fischer (R-NE), Chris Coons (D-DE), Ed Markey (D-MA), and Ben Cardin (D-MD) are original cosponsors.
