Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued the following statement after today’s payroll tax vote:

“As I did last December, I voted to extend the temporary payroll tax cut because allowing taxes to suddenly go up on millions of taxpayers would be terrible for our struggling economy.  With this issue behind us and the Democrats’ latest attempt to raise taxes defeated, it’s important that we look for additional ways to cut spending and work towards comprehensive tax reform that will bring lasting certainty for families and job creators.”
