Fighting for Florida

On April 17, my colleagues and I introduced immigration legislation. It marked a first step toward achieving the strongest border security and enforcement measures in U.S. history, modernizing our legal immigration system to unleash strong economic growth and job creation, and dealing with our undocumented immigrant population in a tough, but fair way that is directly linked to achieving several security triggers.

While I believe this legislation will accomplish these things, I am also confident that an open and transparent process – one that engages every senator and the American people – will make it even better. I believe this kind of open debate is critical in helping the American people understand what’s in the bill, what it means for you and what it means for our future.

During my time in the Senate, many of you have written to me about your concerns with our immigration system.  Today, I want to share this video with you in which I outline what this legislation sets out to do. And most importantly, I want to invite you to share your thoughts and submit your ideas below, on ways we can improve it.

NO AMNESTY! Right now in anticipation of instant citizenship illegals (yes, ILLEGALS) are pouring over the border. Obama and other Democrats see this as a bonanza for them as they will most all vote Democrat. They do not want to be Americans, they do not want to learn English or assimilate in any way. I see it everyday. This needs to stop NOW! This is pure insanity. Our economy is in the crapper and all you guys want to do is add fuel to the fire. More illegals=less jobs and more burden on a broken entitlement system. STOP THE MADNESS!

I question why, you would allow law breakers to just go with a small $1000 fine, when the law provides for up to 5 years and a fine, for employers to shield, hide, hire or conseal their presents in this country...Have you lost your dedication to American Principles in order to pacify those on the left that seem to need all the votes they can get by passing illegals into the system...grant it that they could not vote for several years, but they remain criminals just the same.....sneak into Mexaco and see how that works for you.....

The amnesty bill is wrong. These illegal people need to be deported and then allowed to come and apply for entry into this country legally like all our fore fathers did.
I voted for you in the last election, but if you help push this bill through I won't be able to vote for you again.
All these illegals will vote democratic and you will be committing political suicide if you allow them to stay.

When we start giving to people who have already Broke our laws we are contributing to the crime. What I believe we need to do is deport ALL those that are here ILLEGALLY, Seal the borders, and allow those that want to start out by obeying our laws the chance to become LEGAL citizens. DO NOT under any circumstances allow those criminals to be rewarded!

first and foremost - SECURE ALL OF OUR BORDERS - it is a different world now, 9/11 happened and we have no idea what is coming across our borders! PROTECT US - Mexico's southern border has a fence to keep would-be illegal immigrants out, we have the sovereign right to do the same - SECURE THE BORDERS NOW, WORRY ABOUT WHAT TO DO WITH THE PEOPLE HERE ILLEGALLY AFTERWARDS
