Fighting for Florida

On April 17, my colleagues and I introduced immigration legislation. It marked a first step toward achieving the strongest border security and enforcement measures in U.S. history, modernizing our legal immigration system to unleash strong economic growth and job creation, and dealing with our undocumented immigrant population in a tough, but fair way that is directly linked to achieving several security triggers.

While I believe this legislation will accomplish these things, I am also confident that an open and transparent process – one that engages every senator and the American people – will make it even better. I believe this kind of open debate is critical in helping the American people understand what’s in the bill, what it means for you and what it means for our future.

During my time in the Senate, many of you have written to me about your concerns with our immigration system.  Today, I want to share this video with you in which I outline what this legislation sets out to do. And most importantly, I want to invite you to share your thoughts and submit your ideas below, on ways we can improve it.

If you wish to inter New Zealand and obtain Citizenship you have to have at least $2500 in your pocket at the time. We let anyone into our country and put them on Welfare when we are broke yet we don't do enough for our own Military.

We DO NOT need immigration reform. What we need is for the laws that are currently on the books is to be enforced. This country does not need millions more on welfare for us to support. STOP WITH THIS IMMIGRATION REFORM TALK. It is not wanted, much less needed!

Do not give amnesty to anyone here illegally. Do not give welfare and other handouts to anyone here illegally. Do not give our jobs to illegal aliens. Severely punish companies that hire illegal aliens. Do not give citizenship to anyone born here if one or both parents are illegal aliens.
We need to take care of our own before we cater to people who came here illegally.

Millions of people has come to America the right way. Millions have spent years of time and significant money to be American. You nullify their acknowledgement by this amnesty. The borders need to be secure like any other nation. Then make naturalization points more accessible like Ellis Island was. Make sure every person in the world , who want to be an American, knows where they are and what in expected of them, No exceptions. No gimmes, no pass on healthcare, no pass on taxes, no criminals. No body respects anything that was given to them.

Immigration and work visas are two separate and distinct issues. We currently have an avenue to become a citizen. what we need is to enforce those laws. As to the work visa issue. increase them if you must for migrant workers, once the season is over, they are to return home and apply again next season...failure to return would constitute a forfeiture of eligibility to obtain a work visa. The simple fact of the matter is, regardless of whether the come here to have a better life, entering this country illegally is a crime.
As a side note, much like a foreign country has an embassy here in US that is treated as their native soil. I suggest each hospital designate 1 delivery room as foreign soil. All those unable to provide documentation of legal status will be able to give birth in the room designated as foreign soil. This would eliminate 1 incentive (anchor baby) for coming to US illegally. If it turns out that siad mother was legal but didnt have docs at time, adjustments can be made. DEFEND US CITIZENS 1st. worry about others 2nd.
