Rubio: Washington will makes things worse for Florida voters, not better

Jun 22, 2021 | Press Releases

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) released a statement following the Senate Democrats’ failed attempt to push through a partisan federal takeover of Florida’s elections. The bill, known as the For the People Act, would strip away critical electoral safeguards. For example, it would mandate that Florida allow ballot harvesting and completely undermine Florida’s reasonable voter identification laws.

Florida election laws strike a fair balance between accessibility and security, and further involvement from Washington will weaken our elections and make things worse for Florida voters.”
