Fighting for Florida

On April 17, my colleagues and I introduced immigration legislation. It marked a first step toward achieving the strongest border security and enforcement measures in U.S. history, modernizing our legal immigration system to unleash strong economic growth and job creation, and dealing with our undocumented immigrant population in a tough, but fair way that is directly linked to achieving several security triggers.

While I believe this legislation will accomplish these things, I am also confident that an open and transparent process – one that engages every senator and the American people – will make it even better. I believe this kind of open debate is critical in helping the American people understand what’s in the bill, what it means for you and what it means for our future.

During my time in the Senate, many of you have written to me about your concerns with our immigration system.  Today, I want to share this video with you in which I outline what this legislation sets out to do. And most importantly, I want to invite you to share your thoughts and submit your ideas below, on ways we can improve it.

Amnesty and/or future citizenship for people who come here illegally shouldn't EVER by on the table. We need to secure our borders, end birthright citizenship and e-verify and force these illegal aliens to go home. In truth it would be cheaper to round them up and deport them than to allow them to stay here.
If truth were known most of them are getting earned income credit so they pay no taxes. Having worked in the tax field for many years, I know this for a fact.
Our representatives in DC should be working for us, your employers not for the likes of law breaking illegals.

Very simple....never allow more immigrants than there are jobs to be filled....This was the policy up until Clinton I believe...maybe sooner....Also get tough with the laws we presently have on the books....pattern our system after Mexicos and enforce it against them the way they enforce their laws against Americans!

    Dear Senator,
    1. You finish by stateing status quo is not enforcing laws already on the books. Start there. If we are not willing to enforce the current laws, then I have no reason to believe future laws will be enforced.
    2. Fence / security first. Some are coming to OUR country for jobs which in turn destablizes our economy. Some are coming to change OUR way of life / beliefs and killing us in the process. Our best first move is secure the border while enforcing existing laws. Use national guard for security and take no longer than three years to but secutity in place - Fence / Drones / Highly trained Officers who run the drones / patrol the fences / and deport and prosecute drug violators.

Secure our borders and ports above all else.

Reduce or eliminate the four large magnets to illegal immigration. First pass E-verify for all employers to be done started within 3 months for new applications and 9 months for all current employees making sure there are penalties for those employers that don't do it and give time frame for those employees or applicants of 45 days to clear up any discrepancies otherwise they can't be hired or must be fired. Second do not allow chain-migration. Third no birthright citizenship, our country is the only industrialized country in the world. Fourth do not allow illegals to have access to any government services or tax refunds.

Passing these will reduce most reasons for any illegals to remain or come to our country.

Why can you not just be elected and honor the oaths you've taken? Follow the the law of the land.....Every time there's a reform, it only gets worse for Americans, legal immigrants, and most notably America.
