Tampa, Florida – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) today toured Hillsborough Community College’s (HCC) Workforce Training Center to discuss how the institution is promoting vocational education and apprenticeships for the Tampa area.
“I visited HCC’s Workforce Training Center to see the important work being done to strengthen career opportunities for its students,” Rubio said. “Their coordination with the private sector to help meet the needs of our workforce and to train students for immediate job openings plays an important role in the region’s economy.”
“Vocational education and apprenticeships are the future of our 21st century economy,” Rubio added. “As automation, digitization, and other factors rapidly change the employment landscape, I remain committed to advancing measures that ensure American workers are not left behind.”
