PHOTOS: Rubio, Curbelo Discuss Benefits of Child Tax Credit in Miami
Miami, FL—U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) and U.S. Representative Carlos Curbelo (R-FL) today held a roundtable discussion on how the enhanced child tax credit is helping South Florida families. Last week, Rubio held a similar roundtable in Pensacola.
Since 2014, Rubio has pushed for an enhanced child tax credit to help working and middle-class American families. Standing up to his own party’s leadership during tax reform, Rubio won provisions in the tax bill that doubled the per-child tax credit to $2,000 and increased the refundable portion of the credit to $1,400, which will increase with inflation each year until the full $2,000 applies per child. Rubio’s efforts help more than 90 million families.
“We had a great discussion with South Florida families today on how the enhanced child tax credit is helping to ease the burden of raising children,” said Rubio. “These parents work hard to provide for their families, and now because of Republican-led tax reform, they able to keep more of their own money. Today’s roundtable is yet another example of how the enhanced child tax credit is a win for Florida’s working families.”
