NOW: Rubio Speaks on Senate Floor to Address the Need to Support Venezuela’s Transitional Government

Washington, D.C. – At approximately 6:25 p.m. today, U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) will deliver remarks on the Senate floor regarding efforts to support Juan Guaidó as the Provisional President of Venezuela as well as efforts to provide humanitarian aid to the suffering people of Venezuela. Yesterday, Rubio welcomed the United States’ recognition of Guaidó as the Provisional President of Venezuela.
 
Rubio’s Actions in Support of the Venezuela’s National Assembly and Provisional President Juan Guaidó:

  • On January 15, 2019, Rubio spoke on the Senate Floor Urging Administration to Support Venezuela’s Provisional Government.  
  • On December 10, 2018, Rubio and U.S. Senator Bob Menendez urged President Trump to Recognize National Assembly as the Only Legitimate Government in Venezuela.
