Senator Rubio Votes To Repeal ObamaCare’s 1099 Regulation
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio today commented on his vote in favor of H.R. 4 to repeal the 1099 regulation contained in the ObamaCare health care law. The 1099 provision would have placed a new burden on businesses to comply with tax filing paperwork by forcing all businesses, charities, and state and local governments to file 1099 forms if they purchase $600 or more in goods and services from another business throughout the year.
“ObamaCare is destroying jobs in the real world, and I support its full repeal and replacement,” said Rubio. “Repealing ObamaCare’s 1099 provision will lift a significant burden that has been placed on job creators. Throughout my travels in Florida, the job-destroying uncertainty caused by ObamaCare has been a top concern on people’s minds, and the 1099 regulation in particular became a poster child for Washington top-down policies that hurt our economy and have a devastating impact on real people.”
Rubio is already an original co-sponsor of legislation introduced by U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) to fully repeal the health care bill that President Obama signed into law on March 23, 2010.
Senator Rubio continued, “Finally correcting the mistake Washington made in passing the 1099 regulation is an important and necessary step, but ObamaCare in its entirety must be repealed and replaced. It is imperative that the Senate Democrat leadership in Washington heed the call of families and job creators across Florida and repeal ObamaCare.”
