Miami, FL — U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued the following statement after President Joe Biden signed the Reinforcing Nicaragua’s Adherence to Conditions for Electoral Reform (RENACER) Act, co-authored by Rubio, into law. 

“Following Sunday’s sham elections in Nicaragua, the United States is sending an important message to the Ortega-Murillo authoritarian dynasty and to their enablers: we will not turn a blind eye,” Rubio said. “I want to thank my colleagues both in the House and the Senate for getting this bill to the President’s desk last week.”

Rubio is the Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, Transnational Crime, Civilian Security, Democracy, Human Rights, and Global Women’s Issues.

RUBIO CELEBRA FIRMA DEL PROYECTO DE LEY RENACER

Miami, FL — El senador estadounidense Marco Rubio (R-FL) emitió el siguiente comunicado después que el presidente Joe Biden firmara el proyecto de ley RENACER, de coautoría de Rubio.

“Tras las elecciones fraudulentas del domingo en Nicaragua, EE.UU. está enviando un mensaje importante a la dinastía autoritaria de Ortega y Murillo, al igual que a sus facilitadores: no nos haremos lo de la vista gorda”, Rubio dijo. “Quiero agradecer a mis colegas tanto en la Cámara de Representantes como en el Senado de EE.UU. por pasar este proyecto de ley y enviarlo al escritorio del presidente la semana pasada”.

Rubio es el Miembro de Más Alto Rango del Subcomité sobre Hemisferio Occidental, Crimen Transnacional, Seguridad Civil, Democracia, DDHH y Asuntos Globales de la Mujer.
