Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) released a statement after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) announced Rubio would serve as Acting Chairman of the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.

“I am grateful to Leader McConnell for his confidence in me to lead the Senate Intelligence Committee during Senator Burr’s absence from the Chairmanship,” Rubio said. “The Committee has long been one that conducts its work seriously, and I look forward to continuing that tradition.”

Washington, D.C. — El senador estadounidense Marco Rubio (R-FL) emitió el siguiente comunicado después que el líder de la mayoría del senado Mitch McConnell (R-KY) anunciara que Rubio se desempeñaría como presidente interino del Comité de Inteligencia del Senado de los Estados Unidos.

“Estoy agradecido con el líder McConnell por su confianza en mí para dirigir el Comité de Inteligencia del Senado durante la ausencia del senador Burr de la presidencia del comité”, Rubio dijo. “El comité ha sido, durante mucho tiempo, una comisión que lleva a cabo su trabajo con seriedad, y espero continuar con esa tradición”.
