Washington D.C. — U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued a statement and released a video message after Ricardo Rosselló resigned as Governor of Puerto Rico. Puerto Ricans have been demanding for Rosselló’s resignation due to a corruption scandal in his administration.
“Ricardo Rosselló’s resignation is an opportunity for Puerto Rico to emerge from this nightmare,” Rubio said. “Now, we must turn the page and recommit to working on behalf of Puerto Ricans to ensure the people on the island do not suffer the consequences of the unacceptable actions by corrupt politicians.”

Los puertorriqueños han estado exigiendo la renuncia de Rosselló debido a un escándalo de corrupción en su administración.
“La renuncia de Ricardo Rosselló es una oportunidad para que Puerto Rico emerja de esta pesadilla”, Rubio dijo. “Ahora, debemos pasar la página y re-comprometernos a trabajar en nombre de los puertorriqueños para garantizar que las personas en la isla no sufran las consecuencias de las inaceptables acciones de políticos corruptos”.
