Miami, FL — U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued the following statement after the assault against interim President Juan Guaidó and members of the democratically elected National Assembly by dictator Nicolás Maduro’s GNB (Bolivarian National Guard of Venezuela) forces:
“Today’s assault by the despotic Maduro regime and his mercenaries is yet another move to undermine the only democratic body left in Venezuela, the National Assembly. Members of the National Assembly and interim President Juan Guaidó deserve tremendous credit for their unwavering defense of Venezuela’s democratic institutions and the nation’s future. As members of the GNB physically assaulted members of the National Assembly, they must be put on notice: The United States stands in support of the interim government led by Juan Guaidó and the democratically elected National Assembly.”
Rubio is the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, Transnational Crime, Civilian Security, Democracy, Human Rights, and Global Women’s Issues.

Ya que los miembros del GNB agredieron físicamente a miembros de la Asamblea Nacional, deben ser notificados: los Estados Unidos apoya al gobierno interino dirigido por Juan Guaidó y la Asamblea Nacional electa democráticamente “.
