Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued the following statement after the Trump Administration recently announced amendments to the Cuban Assets Control Regulations (CACR), which is targeting sources of revenue for corrupt members of the Cuban dictatorship and military:
“The Trump Administration continues to deliver on its promise of reversing the Obama Administration’s disastrous one-sided Cuba policy, which provided a life-line to the repressive regime of Raúl Castro,” Rubio said. “We must continue to close loopholes that permit corrupt members of the Cuban dictatorship and military to enrich their pockets at the expense of the Cuban people, who are still subjected to an oppressive puppet-tyrant.”
Rubio is the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, Transnational Crime, Civilian Security, Democracy, Human Rights, and Global Women’s Issues.

Washington, D.C. — El senador estadounidense Marco Rubio (R-FL) emitió el siguiente comunicado después que la administración del presidente Trump anunciara enmiendas a las Regulaciones de Control de Activos Cubanos (CACR, por sus siglas en inglés):
“La administración Trump continúa cumpliendo su promesa de revertir la desastrosa política hacia Cuba de la administración Obama, la cual le brindó un sustento al régimen represivo de Raúl Castro”, Rubio dijo. “Debemos seguir luchando para no permitir que los corruptos miembros de la dictadura y del ejército cubano se enriquezcan a expensas del pueblo cubano, el cual todavía está sometido a un tirano y títere opresivo”.
Rubio es el Presidente del Subcomité de Relaciones Exteriores para el Hemisferio Occidental, Delincuencia Transnacional, Seguridad Civil, Democracia, Derechos Humanos y Asuntos Globales de la Mujer.
