Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) applauded the Senate’s passage of his resolution recognizing May 17, 2022 as Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) Pediatric Brain Cancer Awareness Day. The resolution raises awareness of, and encourages research on DIPG tumors and other pediatric brain cancers. DIPG is not only the deadliest form of pediatric brain cancer, it also remains the second most common form of pediatric brain cancer and the average life expectancy is only between 8 and 11 months after diagnosis.
Rubio is proud to serve as the sponsor of the DIPG Pediatric Brain Cancer Awareness Day for the fourth consecutive year, helping to raise awareness for, and urging a better understanding of pediatric cancers.

RUBIO APLAUDE APROBACIÓN DE RESOLUCIÓN PARA DESIGNAR 17 DE MAYO COMO EL DÍA DE CONCIENTIZACIÓN SOBRE EL CÁNCER CEREBRAL PEDIÁTRICO
Washington, D.C. — El senador estadounidense Marco Rubio (R-FL) aplaudió la aprobación por parte del senado de EE.UU. de su resolución que reconoce el 17 de mayo del 2022 como el Día de Concientización sobre el Cáncer Cerebral Pediátrico del Glioma Pontino Intrínseco Difuso (DIPG, por sus siglas en inglés). La resolución busca crear concientización y fomenta la investigación sobre los tumores DIPG y otros cánceres cerebrales pediátricos. El DIPG no solo es el tipo más mortal de cáncer cerebral pediátrico, sino que también sigue siendo el segundo tipo más común de cáncer cerebral pediátrico cuya expectativa de vida promedio es de tan solo 8 y 11 meses tras ser diagnosticado.
Rubio se enorgullece de servir como patrocinador de esta resolución bipartidista por cuarto año consecutivo para así poder crear conciencia y poder promover una mejor comprensión de los cánceres pediátricos.
