English/Español: Rubio Applauds New Sanctions Against Corrupt Venezuela Exchange Network
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), Chairman of the Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, Transnational Crime, Civilian Security, Democracy, Human Rights, and Global Women’s Issues, released the following statement after the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctioned Venezuelan individuals and companies involved in a corruption scheme generating more than $2.4 billion in corrupt proceeds:
“As Maduro prepares for another illegitimate term as dictator, the United States is sending a strong message against his corrupt narcoterrorist regime. The individuals and entities sanctioned have enriched themselves through illegal exchange transactions. Today, our nation is holding them accountable and continuing to stand firmly with the Venezuelan people’s cause for freedom and democracy.”
The seven individuals designated today include: Raul Gorrin Belisario, Claudia Patricia Diaz Guillen, Adrian Jose Velasquez Figueroa, Leonardo Gonzalez Dellan, Gustavo Adolfo Perdomo Rosales, Maria Alexandra Perdomo Rosales, and Mayela Antonina Tarascio-Perez.
RUBIO APLAUDE NUEVAS SANCIONES CONTRA RED CORRUPTA DE INTERCAMBIO EN VENEZUELA
Washington, DC – El senador estadounidense Marco Rubio (R-FL), Presidente del Subcomité de Relaciones Exteriores para el Hemisferio Occidental, Delincuencia Transnacional, Seguridad Civil, Democracia, Derechos Humanos y Asuntos Globales de la Mujer, emitió el siguiente comunicado después que la Oficina de Control de Activos Extranjeros (OFAC) de los Estados Unidos sancionara a individuos y compañías venezolanas involucradas en un plan de corrupción que generó más de $2.4 mil millones en ingresos:
“Mientras Maduro se prepara para otro mandato ilegítimo como dictador de Venezuela, los Estados Unidos está enviando un fuerte mensaje contra su corrupto régimen narcoterrorista. Las personas y entidades sancionadas por la OFAC, se han enriquecido a través de transacciones ilícitas de intercambio de dinero. Hoy, nuestra nación responsabiliza a estos individuos y continúa apoyando firmemente la causa de la libertad y la democracia del pueblo venezolano”.
