Washington, D.C. — Hoy, el senador estadounidense Marco Rubio (R-FL) emitió el siguiente comunicado tras votar a favor de la resolución para finalizar la declaración de emergencia nacional del Presidente Trump.
“Tenemos una emergencia en nuestra frontera, y es por eso que apoyó que el Presidente use fondos decomisados y dinero de la lucha antidrogas para construir un muro. Sin embargo, no puedo apoyar el uso de fondos que el Congreso explícitamente asignó para la construcción y actualización de nuestras bases militares. Esto crearía un precedente que un futuro presidente pudiese abusar para impulsar programas como el “Green New Deal”, especialmente dado el acogimiento al socialismo que estamos viendo en la política de la izquierda”.
